Helen Joyce, journalist, author and ‘Sex Matters’ campaigner, has been nominated for the Sense About Science John Maddox Prize 2023.

The John Maddox prize celebrates the courageous advancing of public discourse with science and seeks to recognise those individuals that have stood up for science and evidence despite being challenged and faced with hostility.

Sense About Science says: ‘Helen Joyce has been shortlisted for her courage in raising the importance of considering biological sex differences in health and social research, and the need for medical interventions to be evidence-based and transparently researched…’
