We are absolutely delighted to announce that Paula Greenlees’ wonderful debut novel The Rain Tree has been snapped up by the Cornerstone imprint Arrow. UK and Commonwealth rights were acquired for two books by Sonny Marr from Caroline Hardman. The ebook is set to be released first, with the paperback original to follow in spring 2021.

Set in Singapore in the years following the Second World War, the novel follows Miranda a bereaved mother who has recently left England behind and is struggling to come to terms with her loss. Feeling distant from her husband and without purpose, Miranda is adrift in her new surroundings, until an encounter with a British medic leads her to a surprising vocation and to independence.What follows is a tale of friendship, hope, and love, set against the gloriously realised, vibrant landscape of post-war Singapore.

Paula Greenlees has a degree in English and European Thought and Literature, and a MA in Writing. A section of her work has been included in Matter, a Sheffield Hallam magazine, which showcases the best work of writers from the MA course. Before starting the MA, Paula ran her own business for 15 years, after a period as a teacher. Paula now lives in Warwickshire, having lived in South East Asia, Chicago and San Francisco. She is currently writing her second novel.
