Kevin MacNeil
Kevin MacNeil was born and raised in the Outer Hebrides. A novelist, screenwriter, poet, editor, lyricist and playwright, he has won numerous literary awards and performed at festivals worldwide.
He is a Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Stirling, having previously taught at the universities of Uppsala, Edinburgh and Kingston.
MacNeil’s most recent novel is The Brilliant & Forever (shortlisted for the Saltire Fiction of the Year Award, Scottish Book of the Month in Waterstones and Blackwell’s, and a book of the year in multiple round-ups, published by Polygon Books). Other works include The Stornoway Way (Penguin), A Method Actor’s Guide to Jekyll and Hyde (Polygon Books), Love and Zen in the Outer Hebrides (Canongate Books), Sweetness (Dogstar Theatre), Hamish The Movie (Bees Nees Media).
MacNeil is a practising Buddhist and a keen cyclist, interested also in creativity and Scottish culture.
