Sally Howe at Scriber has acquired Marion Gibson’s WITCHLAND from Sarah Levitt at Aevitas Creative Management, on behalf of Joanna Swainson.

WITCHLAND is the story of a witch panic that seized 17th-century civil war Britain, leading to an unprecedented series of trials and executions, with a focus on the lives and worlds of the victims. WITCHLAND will also be published by Simon & Schuster UK.

Marion Gibson is professor of Renaissance and magical literature at the University of Exeter. WITCHLAND will be her second book, with her first, WITCHCRAFT, published in 2023 by Simon & Schuster
