Jasmine Elmer

Jasmine Elmer is a historian with soul, known for her rich, emotionally intelligent approach to the past. Her work centres on the forgotten, overlooked and quietly powerful stories of women, inviting readers to feel history as much as understand it. Through her platform History with Soul, Jasmine encourages a personal, heart-led connection to the lives of those who came before us – offering a new, more intuitive way of encountering the past.

Her debut book, Goddess with a Thousand Faces, is a bold and lyrical journey through global goddess traditions, blending storytelling with historical insight. Drawing on years of academic research at UCL, Cambridge and Exeter, as well as her time as a secondary school teacher of Classics, Jasmine brings scholarly depth and personal warmth to her writing and media work. Her second book, Slay: Ancient legends of female slayers and the hidden mythology of dragons is coming Summer 2026.

Of Pakistani and white heritage, with a mother born in Canada, Jasmine grew up in East London and now lives in Devon with her husband, son and five unapologetically adored cats. A passionate advocate of slow living, she spends her time meditating, walking in nature and upcycling old furniture – often with soulful music playing in the background. You can find her on Instagram @history_with_soul, and across multiple TV and podcast platforms. Go to www.jasmineelmer.co.uk for more.
