HAGS: THE DEMONISATION OF MIDDLE-AGED WOMEN by Victoria Smith has been shortlisted for the Nero Book Awards 2023 in the Non-Fiction category.

In HAGS, Smith takes a thematic approach to subjects from violence to care work, focusing on the collision of ageism and misogyny in current culture. The judges describe HAGS as ‘funny and furious, whip-smart and eye-opening, Hags is a brave and important book that could hardly be more timely and necessary.’

HAGS was published by Fleet in 2023, and edited by Ursula Doyle. The paperback will be available in 2024.
