What a start to the week! We’re absolutely thrilled to hear that Emma Christie’s fabulously twisty debut thriller, The Silent Daughter has been shortlisted for the Bloody Scotland Scottish Crime Debut of the Year award, alongside novelists by Alistair Liddle, Robbie Morrison and Mark Wightman. Congratulations, Emma!
The Silent Daughter was published by Welbeck in September 2020, and has recently been longlisted for the McIlvanney Prize and the CWA’s New Blood Dagger.
The winner will be judged by Janice Forysth from BBC Radio Scotland, Simon Lloyd from Waterstones and Kenny Tweeddale from sponsors, the Glencairn Glass, with the announcement being made on 17th September.
Chris Morrison is facing his worst nightmare.
His wife is in a coma.
His daughter is missing.
And the only thing more unsettling than these two events . . . is what might connect them.
